In the most recent live letter, Yoshida and crew announced upcoming changes for the 2.2 patch coming out in less then a week!


Highlights of the live letter include:
    March 27 patch date
    New tomes
    New Coil Turns
    New vanity system uses crafted items to activate
    Additional Retainers + Quests
    New Crafting Recipe Books
    New relic quests

Ack, sorry about the giant post on the front page. I didn't realize it would show up there, and that if it did, it wouldn't be shortened…Not sure if it can be edited? Don't let me post news from now on…

Anyway…I am most excited about the new crafting recipes. I can't wait to see how they will effect the game and the economy. I hope I will be able to jump in on that game.

After that, coil being taken out of weekly lock-outs is awesome. That means more practice, more loots!

Don't forget vanity. I am busy prepping what I want to wear.

From an interview with Yoshida:

After the patch, you won't obtain Philosophy anywhere - it will be replaced with Mythology. There will be a NPC available which allows you to exchange currency at a predetermined rate.

Sounds like it's time to cap Philo tomes before 2.2 to get those bonus Myth tomes!

Wow, I was wondering what they were going to do, but this makes sense. Thanks for the info, I was looking for the source!
