"How am I supposed to find a tool in pitch-black darkness!" you cry out. Your voice echoes and suddenly you realize something is very wrong. The tent you were just in was quite tiny and would never cause that kind of echo. Also, it's very cold. Just then you hear a large splash, not unlike the one you heard in the cave you splashed down in earlier today. The hairs on the back of your neck stand up. You're very alert and quite scared now. You feel power surge through you, similar to an adrenaline rush, but with it your hands start to pulse with a reddish-orange glow. Something catches your eye not far away… it looks like the end of a staff with a gem on top, and it's pulsing glow is perfectly in time with yours. You hear a noise from the other direction and you run and grab the object. It's almost like a small mace of sorts! You don't have time to contemplate the origin or purpose of the object for long as you hear a growl near you in the darkness! You turn and put your hands up to shield yourself, and as you do flames shoot out of end of the object, striking the unseen foe! As the monster vanishes you shield your eyes from a flash of light, and as you open them you find yourself back in the tent looking at the old woman. "It seems you found the cudgel just in time." she remarks.
